I have over 30 years experience training, lessons helping horses become calm, confident, safe, and athletic. I help each horse reach his full potential by enhancing his well-being using positive reinforcement and the least amount of pressure. I want your reiner, barrel horse, western pleasure competition trail horse, companion, to be relaxed, balanced, and comfortable. I also want him to understand the job he (or she) is asked to perform. I understand the psychology behind behavior and the mechanics behind movement. I work with troubled horses, and all a round horses. I will treat your horse with respect, honor his true nature, and work with him in a way that's beneficial to his mind and body. Your farm or mine. Have you recently purchased your first horse, or has it been a really long time since you owned one and now you have a few (or LOTS) of questions? I can help start you off in the right direction with the basics of horse ownership. Everything you need to know to start caring for your horse and keep him AND you happy, healthy, and safe! Feeding, hoof care, handling, grooming, bad manners, when to call the vet, vaccines, worming, how to saddle, bridle, etc. There are a million things to learn and I am more than happy to take the time to answer all your questions. I have plenty of knowledge to pass along, plus I love to see newcomers to the equine industry! Bring your horse with you, I can come to you, or you can come and learn the basics with private lessons on one of my horses. Cost is $35/session for 17 and under and $45/session for 18 and older, come for as little as one hour or as long as necessary to get you feeling comfortable with the horse in your life. Session time is flexible to meet your schedule.
I teach beginner thru advanced riders. At our facility we do not have any age requirements. We have taught as young as 2 years old :) I also give barrel racing lessons and pole bending lessons. I will provide the horses and the tack or you can bring your own. I charge $35/45 for one sesson, $150 for a package of four lessons or $215 for a package of six lessons. The lessons give are sometimes private and other times semi private but rarely will there ever be more than 2 riders per instructor. If there is two riders we will pair an advanced student with a novice. Our lessons are minimal 30 minutes in saddle. I teach horsmanship along with the saddle time. I'm big on safety and having full control of the horse so the first lesson maybe spent mostly doing slow work learning how to control the horse properly.
